No Knead Pizza Dough in Food Processor

Prep time – 15 mins

Proof time – 90 mins

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tsp dry active yeast
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp dry basil leaves
  • 2 tbsp olive oil / any vegetable oil

Cooking Instructions

  • In a bowl add 1 cup of warm water, 2 tsp of dry active yeast, ½ tsp of sugar, mix well and set aside for 10 mins. Water should not be hot, just lukewarm. If the water is hot, yeast will not get activated.
  • After 10 minutes, the mixture will be frothy. This indicates that yeast has been activated. If the mixture is not frothy, discard the mixture and make a new one.
  • In a food processor, attach the dough blade and add all purpose flour, olive / vegetable oil and salt.
  • I have also added garlic powder and a little bit of basil to get a kick to the otherwise bland dough. It is totally optional. You can avoid it if you don’t want them.
  • Attach the lid, run the food processor in the lowest speed and add the yeast mixture gradually.
  • Once the dough comes together, grease your hands, take the dough out, mix just a few times and form into a ball.
  • Grease a wide bowl, and place the dough in the bowl. Liberally coat the dough with oil and cover tightly.
  • Keep it in a warm place till the volume doubles or around 1 ½ to 2 hours.
  • Then slightly punch the dough and that’s it, your no knead homemade pizza dough is ready.
  • You can go ahead and make the pizza immediately or refrigerate / freeze for later use.
