Ingredients
- ⅓ cup rolled oats
- ½ medium sized apple
- ½ cup water
- ⅓ cup milk
- 1 tbsp Jaggery powder / sugar / date syrup / honey
- ¼ tsp cinnamon powder ( optional )
Cooking instructions
- In a small pressure cooker ( preferably 1 ½ ltr pressure cooker ) add oats, water, peeled and chopped apples and cook for 3 whistles in high flame. Since it’s a small pressure cooker you will get the whistles in a quick succession. Let the pressure release naturally.
- Open the pressure cooker and mash the cooked oats and apple with the back of a ladle.
- Add milk and mix gently.
- Add sweetener if your choice. If adding the cinnamon powder at this stage.
- Serve warm !!

Recipe notes
- Do not cook the oats and apple in milk since the acidity of the apple curdles the milk.
- You can adjust the consistency depending on your preference by adjusting the quantity of milk.
- You can even blend this and serve it as a smoothie.
