Thengai mittai is an simple Indian style vegan dessert which can be made with just 3 ingredients. It is a gluten-free and dairy-free indian sweet which can be made under 10 minutes. It is a wonderful go-to option to satisfy your sweet tooth or midnight cravings.

Ingredients
  

  • Grated coconut - 1 ½ cup
  • Jaggery powder - 1 cup
  • Peanuts - ¼ cup
  • Water - ¼ cup

Instructions
 

  • Dry roast grated coconut in a pan and set aside.
  • In the same pan add jaggery and water and boil for 5 minutes till it reaches syrup like consistency. You can strain this syrup if your jaggery has any impurities.
  • Once this syrup is ready add the roasted coconut, mix well and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Now add roasted peanuts and mix well.
  • Serve hot or warm.

Notes

  • This is a gluten free, vegan and zero oil recipe.
  • This recipe is keto friendly too.
  • You can substitute peanuts with bengal gram dal.
  • You can also add brown sugar in place of jaggery.
  • Add a pinch of cardamom to get an extra aroma.
